Micro RC Car - Radio Control Hobbies

A micro rc car usually comes in sizes of around 1:6 to 1:18 scale, but there are smaller versions available, as small as 1:64 scale. These cars aren’t meant for serious hobbyists or for racing, but they do have their purposes.

For one thing, they make great collectibles. Micro RC cars often come with their own display stands or protective cases, and they look great sitting on a shelf with other collectibles.

They also make great gifts. Because of their collectability, they make great gifts for RC hobbyists. Although they aren’t very usable for serious hobbyists, they are great for collecting and displaying.

The primary purpose of these tiny cars is to introduce younger children to radio controlled vehicles. If you want to buy your child an RC car, you may not be willing to shell out over $100 for a larger model that the child might damage or destroy quickly. You need something inexpensive, easy to use, simple to maintain, and very replaceable, especially for younger children.

Micro RC Cars for Children

These micro cars are fantastic for introducing younger children to the RC car hobby. You can see if they really enjoy it before shelling out a large amount of money for a more expensive model, and you can quickly see if they lose interest or not. You can also give them one of these inexpensive cars as a test to see if they can care for it. You might consider giving them a smaller model and telling your child that you will get him a larger one if he takes care of the smaller one for a certain period of time and can prove he is responsible enough to handle a larger one.

Another great thing about micro RC cars is the fact that they are extremely portable. Larger RC cars can be awkward or difficult to transport, but these miniature cars are very portable. You can take several of them with you when you go somewhere. For example, you could take several of them with you to the park so your children could all race them together.

Buying Micro RC Cars

You can buy these micro RC cars almost anywhere. While larger RC cars may only be available at specialty stores and online, the smaller models can be purchase at hobby shops and toy stores, and even in department stores and discount stores. Very inexpensive models have even been spotted occasionally in dollar stores. There are a couple of drawbacks to buying a micro RC car. The main problem is the lack of power. These cars are built pretty cheaply, and they’re battery powered rather than nitro powered. That means they just don’t have the speed or power that a more expensive car might have.

Also, they’re generally not very durable. If one of these gets stepped on, it’s probably not going to be repairable. Fortunately, since these models are so inexpensive, it’s not a big deal to just replace one.

If you’re an experienced RC hobbyist, these micro RC cars probably aren’t going to be good for you. But if you’re just looking to get your feet wet, or if you want to give a car to a child, these can be a really nice alternative that won’t break the bank.
